InfoJack Cashin believes that life should be led like a cavalry charge. He takes inspiration from the words of his favorite American president, Theodore Roosevelt-

Far better it is to dare mighty things even though checkered with failure, than to live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

In a life of 80 vigorous years, Jack Cashin has dared many things. Not all of his ventures and adventures have been 100 percent successful, but victories have far outnumbered defeats, and most importantly there has been no gray twilight along the way. His extraordinary experiences and accomplishments would fill several normal lifetimes.

Jack Cashin is a family man. He and his wife Helen have been married for 58 years and have six children, and 13 grandchildren. Since moving to Georgia in 1973, the Cashin's have lived in Sandy Springs and at Chukkar Farm in Cherokee County.

Jack Cashin is an entrepreneur. He owned a successful chain of restaurants – Cashin’s – in the Atlanta area for 14 years. He also published a magazine called Dare, which was distributed nationally in barbershops. Cashin also owned and operated an ostrich farm. In addition to these ventures, Cashin has been a salesman, an actor, an advertising account executive, a real estate investor, and a manufacturer. Today he owns a 131-acre horse farm in Cherokee County, complete with lake and polo field.

Jack Cashin is a sportsman. At the age of 48, he took up the game of polo and has become an accomplished player. He has also taught squash and participated in virtually every sport known to man, including auto racing, scuba diving, and skydiving.

Jack Cashin is an adventurer. Cashin has taken his polo team to Zambia in Africa, and in previous travels he explored the eastern slope of the Andes between Peru and Brazil.

Jack Cashin is a believer in liberty and common sense government. He believes that government’s role should be limited and clearly defined. He feels that neither ‘major party’ understands the proper role of government. To help promote his views about liberty and freedom, Jack ran for the US Senate in 1996 on the Libertarian ticket, and in 1998 he ran as the Libertarian candidate for Governor. This year he is returning as the Libertarian candidate for Georgia’s Agriculture Commissioner, and leading the charge to save the independent farmers of Georgia.

Although Jacks body was born in the north, (Brooklyn, NY) in 1925, he claims his soul was born when he moved South in 1973. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1949 and then worked on a Master’s degree at New York University (NYU). He was also an exchange student in Mexico and Peru.
