Info | I teach American History and English. I also do freelance writing. My wife and I have lived on Long Island for over 35 years. Therefore, without question, I understand the needs of the people of Long Island.
I grew up in the Bronx where I was taught the importance of decency, honesty, hard work, common sense and the importance of learning. These values gave clear focus and direction to my life.
My formal education consists of a B.A. completed at Hunter College, majoring in Economics, and a Masters Degree in Political Science from the City University of New York, earned in 1987. I was elected to the Hunter College Hall of Fame in 1983.
I was Director of Corporate Communications at Citicorp. I had been Senior Vice President of EAB. My business experience trained me to think logically and creatively. There is nothing more rewarding than to work closely with a group of people in the pursuit of excellence.
I wrote the first book dealing with the Defense Department Reorganization Act of 1986, Goldwater-Nichols. This is the most important piece of military legislation to be passed by Congress in the last 50 years. Today, I continue to write on political, military and constitutional subjects. This activity enables me to stay informed on the major issues facing our country.
My published articles and book reviews have appeared in: Defense News, the Baltimore Sun, American Heritage, Newsday, New York Post, Presidential Studies Quarterly, Marine Corps Gazette, Army Magazine & Parameters, U.S. Naval Institute's Proceeding and Armed Forces Journal.
