InfoExtensively involved in the Westchester County/suburban New York State political arena for the past 25 years, Mike Edelman is one of the area's most knowledgeable and articulate political analysts. Witty and entertaining, his is a familiar face in more than a hundred thousand households, where television viewers have enjoyed his on-target commentary for over five years on "Point Counterpoint." This regular feature of Cablevision of Westchester News 12 pits Mike as the Republican spokesman against various Democrats, arguing a variety of timely issues with brilliant aplomb.

Mike's keen insights into current affairs and his lively command of the debating floor have made him much sought-after by such publications as the Gannett Suburban Newspapers and the New York Times. Cablevision News 12 has relied on his in-depth analysis and commentary during their election night coverage each year since 1990. "Worby's Law," a radio show which he co-hosted on WFAS for a successful two-year run, showcased his ability to take the intricacies of controversial political issues and make them comprehensible to a diverse audience. As president of The Hastings Group and owner of M&M Advertising and Media Consultants, Mike has counseled and advised candidates seeking public office since 1973.

Mike began his career in politics while he was still a student at New York University School of Law, serving as Assistant Director for Youth for former Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller. Upon graduation, he was appointed an Assistant District Attorney of Westchester, where he rapidly became the chief administrative aid and political advisor to former Westchester County DA Carl Vergari. After a run for the US House of Representatives in 1978, he became a statewide lobbyist for Voice of the Electorate (VOTE), a bipartisan organization seeking initiative and referendum for the State of New York. Mike worked with state legislators on both sides of the aisle, coordinating an elaborate media and public relations campaign which sought to give the voters of New York the ability to petition to bring matters directly to the ballot. He continues to be an energetic member of the Executive Committee of the Westchester Republican Committee.

Mike continued his career in the private practice of law with a brief stint as the Chief Attorney for the City of Yonkers in 1981. He served as Managing Attorney for the highly regarded law firm of Pirro and Monsell, which specialized in zoning planning and land use issues. Later, he served as Special Counsel to the law firm of David E. Worby, PC, now Worby Borowick Groner LLP, a firm specializing in personal injury and product liability law.

Mike lives with his wife Francine and his son Jeffrey, along with their dog Skittles, in Hastings on Hudson. When he is not involved in politics, he enjoys playing a relaxing game of golf.
