InfoMutasim Billah Mazhabi (a.k.a. Ustad Mazhabi), was born in Polkhomari Baghlan, Afghanistan on January 02, 1964 and is the eldest son of the famous and highly venerated Afghan scholar, Mawlana Muhammad Ataullah Faizani Kakar, a descendent of the mystic Mya Abdul Hakeem Sahib Kakaly. At the age of one, his family moved to Mazar-i Sharif (the birth land of Maulana Jalaludin Rumi, peace be on him), and Mr. Mazhabi spent his youth within the vicinity of Maulana Balkhi's shrine. Again at the age of six, his family migrated to Kabul (Chel Satoon).

Ustad Mutasim Billah Mazhabi entered Agha Ali Shams primary school at the age of seven in 1970, and received many awards for his academic achievements. After primary school, He attended Shahi Dushamshera High school, and was upgraded from grade 9 to 10 after exceeding expectations on the exams. He graduated from high school in 1981 with outstanding honors.

As Mr. Mazhabi belongs to a family with deep spiritual and scholarly roots, while a child Mr. Mazhabi was raised with the basic lessons of jurisprudence, attending programs at the Islamic center (masjid), and later learned directly from his father. After his father was imprisoned in 1979, he continued learning from his Uncle Maulana Mohammad Gul Kakar. After he successfully completed learning the Tafseer of the Quran Shareef and hadith, Mr. Mazhabi went on to obtain his diploma in economics from the Military University - Faculty of Logistics, at Kabul University in 1984, graduating with honors.

As the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan worsened and large numbers of Afghans fled the country, Mutasim Billah Mazhabi immigrated to Peshawar.

In response to an overwhelming number of supporters, calling on Mr. Mutasim Billah Mazhabi to come to the assistance of Afghanistan and usher in a new era of positive development, unity, stability, and Rule of Law, Mr. Mazhabi initiated his presidential election campaign with the slogan "A Positive Change" based on legality, justice, unity, and progress in all walks of life. His stated aim is to restore peace and stability in Afghanistan, the region as well as around the world while developing Afghanistan's natural resources and providing opportunities to the peoples of Afghanistan.
