Info | Dr. Akram Yosri is professor of Information Technology at New York University’s Information Technologies Institute. Dr. Yosri’s main expertise is in Innovation, Information Technology, Globalization, and Economic Development.
He is also managing partner of 3i Capital Group, an investment management and venture capital firm with offices in the United States, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia. He is also founder and former Chairman of the Board of BroadPoint Communications, a telecommunications company in the United States. He was the co-president of USAlert, a software company that pioneered Push Technology and president of Orient Computer Corporation, a systems integration firm from 1989 to 1994. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors and advisor for high-tech companies. Dr. Yosri has published numerous articles on technology and business in prominent publications. His technology innovations earned his companies nominations for the prestigious ComputerWorld Smithsonian Award for Innovation in 1996 and 1998. Dr. Yosri is former candidate for the United States Congress from the State of New Jersey. Dr. Akram Yosri advises governments and world organizations on economic and education issues and is a well-recognized speaker on technology and economic issues worldwide.
In 2003, he chaired the 2nd Annual Economic Forum in Dubai along with former US Vice President Albert Gore and spoke at the 1st Annual Economic Forum along with former National Security Advisor, Mr. Sandy Berger. Dr. Yosri spoke at over 50 conferences and events over the past 10 years. He was recently invited to address the UN Summit on the Information Society in Beirut, Lebanon. He made TV appearances on ABC News, NBC, FOX and his companies were featured in Fortune, Time magazines, and the New York Times.
