| Info | Donald Ploetner served as Vice Chair of the Sussex County GOP from 2012 to 2016. In 2015 he ran for Chair of the Committee with the backing of fellow Vice Chair Jill Space, the wife of Assemblyman Parker Space, against another Vice Chair Jerry Scanlan. Ploetner lost getting 61 votes to Scanlan's 93. In 2012 he ran for Sussex County Freeholder in the republican primary however he lost to Gail Phoebus and Dennis Mudrick. Months after the primary he ran for Sparta Township Council. Again Ploetner lost with 14% of the vote. In 2010 Ploetner ran for Council narrowly losing to Robert Spetz.
