InfoDan McTeague was first elected as Member of Parliament in 1993. He was re-elected in 1997 and 2000. In 2004, he was re-elected to represent the newly redistributed riding of Pickering-Scarborough East.

He is currently serving as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs with Special Emphasis on Canadians Abroad. Among Mr. McTeague’s most notable accomplishments is the passage of his Private Members’ Bill C-202, which made him the first backbench Member of Parliament to amend the Criminal Code. This bill makes it an indictable offence to evade the police by motor vehicle.

Voted hardest working MP by the Hill Times in 2002, Mr. McTeague is also the recipient of the Friend of Small Business award presented by the Canadian Federation of Small Business (CFIB).

In 1985, Dan McTeague graduated from the University of Toronto and became a Special Assistant for the Hon. Alvin Curling, MPP, Minister of Housing for the Province of Ontario. In 1988, he assumed legislative duties for Mr. Derek Lee, MP for Scarborough-Rouge River. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. McTeague returned to Toronto where he was employed as a bilingual Public Relations Specialist with Toyota/Lexus Canada.

He is married to Dr. Daniela Rossi and they have three children, Bradley, Natalie and Patrick.
