| Info | Richard "Rick" Gudex
Rick was born in Eden, WI in 1968. The value of a hard work ethic was instilled early as he worked on construction sites and the family farm while attending St. Mary's Springs High School. After graduation, he began to work full time for the family business before accepting a position as a union shop worker at Gehl Co. Quickly, he was promoted to supervisor. Now a production manager in the Aluminum Division at Brenner Tank LLC, Rick has spent the past 24 years working in manufacturing.
Public service began at an early age for Rick with his 1998 election as Mayor of Mayville when he was just 29. He partnered with the City Council and area business leaders to develop the River Knoll Industrial Park and brokered the TAG Center development.
After moving back to his hometown, Rick joined the Eden Village Board where he continued to be an advocate for common sense solutions and fiscal responsibility.
In 2009, Rick won a seat on the Fond du Lac City Council and was re-elected in 2011. Earlier this year, Rick began his third term as President of the Council.
During Rick's service on the Fond du Lac City Council, he recommended that his own salary be cut, spoke out for greater public input, and supported the growth of local businesses. He has balanced budgets without creating new fees while protecting vital services.
Along with his wife Kim, Rick has lived in Fond du Lac since 2005 where they raise their son, Jayce, and daughter, Alexana. Rick remains an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Parish and Knights of Columbus Council 664.
Senator Rick Gudex was elected to represent the residents of the 18th State Senate District on November 6th, 2012.
Senator Gudex will serve as the Chairman of the Economic Development & Local Government Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Government Operations, Public Works, and Telecommunications Committee, a member of the Education Committee and member of the Universities and Technical Colleges Committee for the 2013-2014 legislative session.
