| Info | Bob is in his twelfth year as a small business owner of Biggs Building Products in Suwanee. Before buying Biggs, he had various jobs in the corporate world including nine years as Chief Financial Officer for an Atlanta based manufacturing company.
He was born and raised in New Jersey, completing his undergraduate degree in economics at Lehigh University in 1968. After an interruption for basic training in the US Army Reserves, he received his MBA in finance from Columbia University in New York City.
Working in the corporate world gave Bob and his family the opportunity to live in various places including a 2 year assignment in Germany. Living abroad gave Bob a new perspective on the various cultures and points of view, instilling in him a deep appreciation for his country as well as respect for the people he encountered.
Bob’s only experience serving in government was as a volunteer on the Washington Township, NJ Environmental Commission and the Municipal Utilities Authority. Bob has always been environmentally conscious. He still remembers writing a paper in middle school about water pollution. He was recycling in the 1970’s when you had to sort and clean the recyclables and drive them to the recycling center. Last year he installed solar panels at his business.
Bob and his wife Maryann, who he has been married to for 41 years, moved with their two sons to Roswell in 1991. They both love the south, not only for the weather, but especially for the friendliness of the people.
For fun Bob enjoys playing with his two young grandchildren and watching them play T-ball and soccer. He also enjoys playing golf with his oldest son and discussing the restaurant business with his youngest son who is a chef. Best of all is spending a relaxing long weekend at the beach with Maryann and family.
