| Info | Born and raised in Minot, ND, I graduated from Bishop Ryan High School and then attended North Dakota State University where I received a Bachelors degree in Political Science and Masters degree in Educational Leadership. As an undergraduate student, I was active in Alpha Tau Omega, Student Government, COAR Team, and the North Dakota Student Association. These leadership opportunities allowed me to learn more about higher education as a career field, which I pursued working at NDSU in a variety of roles for eight years, assisting students in their academic success and pursuit of their career goals. Currently, I serve as the Assistant Director of Leadership and Organizations at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
My involvement in the greater Fargo-Moorhead community has allowed me to build relationships with individuals, employers, community groups, faith-based organizations and service providers that inform me of some of the issues we face locally and throughout the state. Currently, I serve on the Fargo Human Relations Commission, the Board of Directors for the Fargo Theatre and actively volunteer with the Pride Collective and Community Center. I served on the Board of Directors for the Pride Collective for five years and continue to Chair the annual Fargo-Moorhead Pride celebration. In 2008, I was honored by the Fargo Forum as one of 20 Under 40 for my work throughout the Fargo-Moorhead community. I have also volunteered locally with Special Olympics, the American Red Cross, the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, the ALS Association of Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota Chapter, New Generation North Dakota and Gladys Ray Homeless Shelter.
As an active member of our community, I am inspired by the individual and collective contributions each one of us makes so our families, friends and neighbors have the opportunity to live, learn, work and play in a community that respects all individuals and families. While we continue to make progress to ensure that all people in our community have food, shelter, access to healthcare and education, and meaningful employment, there is work that still needs to be done. I look forward to serving the people of north Fargo as their representative in Bismarck.
I ask that you support me in my candidacy to serve and represent District 44 in the North Dakota House of Representatives. We all have different ways in which we can contribute.
