InfoLynette Boggs McDonald is the first woman to lead a City Council ward in the history of Las Vegas. She was appointed to serve Ward 2 on June 28, 1999. On April 3, 2001, she was elected outright in the Ward 2 primary election, receiving an overwhelming 70% of the vote.

From 1994 to 1997, Councilwoman Boggs McDonald served as assistant city manager for the city of Las Vegas. She is a member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Fiscal Affairs Committee, Southern Nevada Debt Management Commission and Regional Jail Commission. She also serves as immediate past president of the Nevada League of Cities and Municipalities and is a member of the Community and Economic Development Policy Committee for the National League of Cities. In addition, she was appointed by Governor Kenny C. Guinn in 2003 to serve on the Nevada Commission on Aging.

A former Miss Oregon who competed in the 1989 Miss America Pageant, Councilwoman Boggs McDonald has been named one of Las Vegas' "Top 40 Under 40" by the Las Vegas Business Press, a "Woman of Achievement" by the Notre Dame Alumni Association, a "Distinguished Woman of Southern Nevada,” a National Conference for Community and Justice 2001 Community Hero and the 2001 Crystal Service Awardee by the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. and Phillip Morris Companies, USA. In 2003, she was chosen by the American Council for Young Political Leaders as a delegate to India.

A self-described "Army brat," Councilwoman Boggs McDonald spent her childhood on American Army bases in Germany and Italy, and has lived in Las Vegas for the last 13 years. She is a business graduate of the University of Notre Dame, attended the University of Oregon Graduate School of Journalism and received a Master's of Public Administration degree from UNLV. She is married to Steven D. McDonald, J.D., and they have a seven-year-old son named Adam.
