Mr. Ellington is the District Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas, including Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Greene, Mississippi and Poinsett Counties.
Scott is a native of Brookland in Craighead County, and currently lives in Jonesboro with his wife, who is an elementary school teacher. They have three children. Their daughter is currently serving in the United States Army. Their older son is a freshman at Arkansas State University, in Jonesboro, and their younger son is a high school junior.
A member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Mr. Ellington serves on several church committees, mission projects, and as a Sunday school teacher. He is a member of the Craighead County Bar Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, and the Arkansas Prosecuting Attorneys Association.
Mr. Ellington was elected as Prosecuting Attorney for the Second Judicial District of Arkansas in 2010. His term began on January 1, 2011. Prior to his election as Prosecuting Attorney, Scott served as a Deputy Prosecutor, beginning in 2007. Before joining the prosecutor’s office, Mr. Ellington worked in private practice for 15 years, handling a wide variety of litigation.
