I grew up on a small farm and I have a Bachelor of Science in agricultural journalism from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
My husband, Eric, and I met when we were 16 and we started dating in college. We got married in 1995 and we have two children: Tom is 15 and a straight-A student-athlete at Fort Atkinson High School, and Anna is 12 and she attends Eagle School in Fitchburg.
Eric is a geography professor at the UW-Whitewater and I run my own writing and photography business. I’m a board member of Heart of the City (a civic-minded organization in Fort Atkinson) and the Eagle Parent Organization; I’m also a member of the Fort Atkinson Arts Council and the Fort Atkinson Garden Club.
I’m still a bit bewildered at my recent transformation from concerned citizen into State Senate candidate. But along the way I’ve made new friends and discovered skills I never knew I had, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
