InfoColonel Jim Engstrand grew up on a family farm in a blue collar working class family that taught him to treasure faith, free enterprise, patriotism, public service and private business productivity. His parents instilled in Jim a work ethic by giving him duties including the hard work of loading and unloading hay, building fences, taking care of livestock and working in the fields on the farm that his family still owns and operates today.

Jim served as sophomore and senior class president in his public high school and competed in wrestling, football and track. Additionally he was a member of 4-H, FFA and served as the president of the junior dairymen’s association. After high school Jim went on to college and enlisted in the Army National Guard to serve his state and country. Two years later he joined ROTC and from there he was commissioned into the Infantry and was sent to the Army Airborne School. Jim’s discipline, persistence and hard worked helped him to start as a private and achieve his current rank of Colonel.

Colonel Engstrand has served in many leadership roles during his military career such as Battalion Operations officer, Medical Company Commander, Deputy Division Surgeon and Chief of Medical Operations to the Joint Surgeon of the National Guard Bureau. In 2009 as a Lieutenant Colonel he was deployed to Iraq as Deputy Division Surgeon with additional responsibility as the Senior Medical Liaison Officer for the Iraq Theater of Operations. In November 2010 he was transferred to the Army Reserve and in March 2011 was assigned to MEDCOM in Texas. In May 2011 he was promoted to full Colonel. He presently serves as the Senior Administrator of an FCC team in the National Disaster Medical System.

While serving his country as a leader of citizen soldiers, Jim operates and owns a small business. He knows the stress of facing bureaucratic obstacles associated with growing and managing a small business in an environment plagued by an administration that is obsessed with taxation, regulation and litigation.

In advance of Hurricane Ike Jim helped lead the coordination of the emergency response services to evacuate special needs patients from across East Texas and Gulf Coast areas prior to Ike making landfall.

COLONEL Engstrand is a combat veteran that has lived his life in private business and public service with Christian Conservative family ethics and values as his guide post. He is a country boy who understands the hard work a Texas rancher and logger endure everyday in order to pay their bills. Jim is a staunch private property rights advocate. He believes governmental regulatory enforcement of personal homes and properties have gone too far and must be rolled back. He is committed to fighting to reduce and eliminate this overreaching regulatory enforcement so that your children and grandchildren may live in a Texas as free as our Texas forefathers who fought and won Texas independence, Houston, Austin, Travis, Fannin, Lamar, Crockett and Bowie, had desired for us to experience.

Engstrand's exceptional leadership of young Americans in difficult times and in difficult situations, his rural upbringing, his Constitutional Conservative Christian ethical platform makes JIM ENGSTRAND the right leader for Southeast Texas' Congressional District 36. If you want a fighter who will call a lie a lie , If you want a Big Government Spending Cutter (25% ACROSS THE FULL SPECTRUM OF GOVERNMENT), If you want a down to earth approachable liberty loving tyranny fighting non- establishment candidate please sign up to get Jim elected. Jim is a working man just like you. He needs all of our support.
