| Info | Born Theodore H Rights 1939 in Newark, New Jersey.
I grew up in Verona and Metuchen, New Jersey, moved to Abington, Pennsylvania for junior high and high school graduating in 1957. I graduated with honors from Moravian College, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 1961, then spent a year at Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s school, Bethel Theological School in Bielefeld, Germany.
Following graduation with honors from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan 1966, I completed a one year rotating internship at Cooper Hospital, Camden, New Jersey 1967.
I was director of public health programs and sometimes the only physician at mission hospitals in Honduras and Nicaragua through 1973. Following return to the states I earned a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland 1974. While working full time for the Pennsylvania Department of Health for six counties in eastern Pennsylvania I became board certified in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Then I worked at a downtown clinic in Reading, Pennsylvania, followed by 14 years in solo private practice. During those years I served as mentor to 14 school nurse practitioners for Reading, Pennsylvania, a city of 80,000 people.
In 1994 I moved to Hamilton, Missouri, and have worked in rural health clinics in Hamilton,Polo, Pattonsberg and Jamesport and work with family nurse practitioners employed by Cameron Regional Medical Center. Together we work for the growth and success of our regional hospital and clinics.
FAMILY
Married to Susan Elizabeth Badman, 1964 . She is a retired Lutheran pastor who served as interim pastor of Lutheran churches in Rockport, Missouri and Lancaster, Kansas. We have two children: Andrew Rights dob 1967 was a hospice chaplain. Now he and his wife Cicily are working as houseparents for a church home in Lawrence, Kansas. He is a graduate of Nazarene Theological Seminary. Daughter Sally Soto dob 1970 is a housewife caring for our two beautiful grandchildren Rosalyn and Jade.
