Info | Terrance D. Carroll is the Colorado State Representative for House District 7. State Representative Carroll graduated with honors from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He received a Master of Divinity degree from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. He is also a graduate of the Summer Leadership Institute at Harvard University Divinity School�s Center for the Study of Values in Public Life and John F. Kennedy School of Government. Currently, he is a Chancellor�s Scholar at the University of Denver College of Law.
Rep. Carroll has worked in Washington, DC for the Christic Institute as policy analyst and legislative liaison. His non-profit experience includes service to the Boy Scouts of America and Youth for Christ. He is also an ordained Baptist minister.
Rep. Carroll has spoken extensively on the role of faith in public discourse, community development, education reform, criminal justice reform, and urban public policy. He is a lecturer at the Denver Institute of Urban Studies and the Youth for Christ Summer Institute. Rep. Carroll has spoken before such diverse groups as the Anti-Defamation League, Denver Rotary Club, the Colorado Libertarian Party Convention, Colorado State Judicial Conference, Colorado District Attorneys Council, and numerous congregations and religious groups.
He was a panelist and served on the planning committee on the Colorado Attorney General�s 2000 statewide conference of workplace violence. Rep. Carroll is a board member of Positive Life Choices, Mile High Ministries, and Colorado Common Cause. He also volunteers as a member of Youth for Christ�s National Urban Ministry Task Force and National Diversity Task Force.
In February 1999, the Urban Spectrum Magazine recognized him as an �African-American Who Makes a Difference� and in September 1999, the Rocky Mountain News Cited him as an �Up and Coming African-American Leader�.
Rep. Carroll is an Eagle Scout and a native of Washington, DC. He is married to the Rev. Marilyn Koerner-Carroll.
