| Info | First elected to the House of Commons in 1997, Rick Laliberte joined the Liberal Caucus in September 2000. He was re-elected in November 2000.
He is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development.
Prior to his election as Member of Parliament for Churchill River, he spent 12 years as a School Trustee and Chair of the Northern Lights School Division. He also serves on the Northern Teachers' Education Program Board of Governors.
Mr. Laliberte was instrumental in the creation of the Radio/TV station in Beauval. He was a key force in the organization of Aboriginal broadcasting in northern Saskatchewan, as well as the annual Beauval Jamboree.
He is especially proud of his involvement with the Northern Music Festival which is a renowned showcase for northern musical talent.
Mr. Laliberte and his wife Valerie have two children
