| Info | Benoit Mercier has dedicated his career to building a better education system for our children, and wants to continue building on that progress at Queen’s Park. A Welland native, Benoit taught in local schools for nearly 25 years. Long involved in professional teaching associations, he was twice elected President of the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO, the Francophone Teachers’ Association of Ontario). He also served on the Executive Committee of the Ontario Teachers’ Federation and as a board member of the Canadian Teachers’ Federation. Benoit’s son, Alex, will be starting university this fall.
