InfoRandy Pettapiece is deeply rooted in his region, growing up in Essex County and moving to Perth-Wellington when his parents bought a dairy farm in the Monkton area in 1967. He has lived happily in Perth-Wellington since 1975.

As a former two-term municipal councilor for the Elma Ward on the North Perth Council, he has valuable experience representing the people in his community. As councilor, he chaired the Atwood Sewer Project Committee, working with local residents to develop and implement a complex infrastructure project that both addressed serious existing issues, and positioned the community for future growth.

He decided not to run in last October’s municipal election, instead focusing on bringing his experience to Queen’s Park. If elected, he will focus on bringing provincial spending under control, reversing the trend of extravagance displayed by the Mcguinty Liberals. He is concerned that the current government is not listening to voters and feels it is time for Perth-Wellington to have an effective voice at Queens Park.

A dedicated volunteer and supporter of local priorities, Randy is a long time member of the Monkton Lions Club. Beyond his involvement in his local club, he proudly took on roles as Zone and Region Chairman, working with other clubs throughout Midwestern Ontario. He was also a minor hockey referee and was the Vice-Chair of the Building Committee for the Elma-Logan Recreation Centre.

When the existing community arena was condemned in the late 1980s, he quickly became part of the local group that was instrumental in developing the current arena, which continues to serve as a focus of community activities in the Monkton area.

Randy and his wife, Jane, have been married for 38 years. They have raised three boys who are now married and have children of their own. Randy enjoys spending time at the family cottage with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fishing.
