| Info | James has developed strong skills in consultation and consensus building that are essential to Green politics and community outreach.
A scientist by education, James earned his doctorate in Physics from the University of Toronto in 1998. Since 1997, he has worked mainly in the private sector to develop advanced technology, initially at Teledyne DALSA (Waterloo).
Since 2000, he has lived in Ottawa South and worked at JDSU, the National Research Council of Canada and Lumenera Corporation. He currently works at Chipworks in Bells Corners as an analyst providing technical competitive intelligence for customers in the semiconductor industry.
James Mihaychuk joined the Green Party of Canada in 2007 after being introduced by a co-worker who had been active in the Green cause for many years.
In the spring of 2011, James was an active volunteer on the 2011 federal Green campaign in Ottawa South. Following the election, James chaired a follow-up meeting for Green candidates from throughout Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
James volunteers as a trainer for house league hockey in the SouthEnd Minor Hockey Association. After 3 years of volunteering as a coach with the Ottawa Internationals Soccer Club’s developmental program, he is currently volunteering as a trainer for competitive youth soccer.
James has been a member of Sustainable Ottawa since 2009. For 2011, James’ family has decided to join the Roots and Shoots Farm community shared agriculture program to receive fresh, locally-grown organic vegetables.
James is married, with two children.
