|Info||Monte McNaughton was born, raised and educated in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, and remains an active member of the local community to this day. |
A responsible small business owner, Monte employs over 60 local workers at McNaughton’s regional shopping centre, a family business that has been a fixture in the local community for over 63 years. Monte understands how small business owners are struggling under a steadily increasing tax fee and paperwork burden, and wants to do his part to lower these barriers so that more local small businesses can grow and create jobs close to home.
A former three term member of the Newbury Council, Monte introduced innovative policies to reduce building permit fees, and provide new incentives to encourage home ownership among young families. Monte has witnessed how rural Ontario communities are being taken for granted at Queen’s Park, and is seeking election as an MPP to ensure that families and small businesses in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex once again receive the respect they deserve.
Monte is proud to have built his life and career in Southwestern Ontario. After graduating from Glencoe District High School, Monte completed programs at Westervelt Business College and the University of Western Ontario. Deeply concerned about the quality of local jobs, Monte was elected to lead the Strathroy Chamber of Commerce, and helped raise money for local health care services as a member of the Four Counties Health Services and Strathroy Hospital’s Foundation.
Today, Monte and his wife Kate reside in Mt. Brydges. Monte and Kate are animal lovers who can often be found with their Yorkshire Terrier dogs.
