InfoMy name is Allan Dettweiler. I am 56 years of age. I have lived in Cambridge (Galt) for the past 13 years.
Some of my earliest years I resided in Preston (Cambridge) and I attended Central Public School (now Preston Public). In total, I have lived close to half my life in what is now Cambridge.
I work as a courier driver. I also run a genealogical website - a database of over 200,000 names of some of the areas earliest pioneer settlers and their descendants up till the present time.
My life partner is Patricia (Pat) Fretwell who is the owner of the City Hall Wedding Chapels in Kitchener.
I have 4 grown children - 3 boys and 1 girl. I am told I will be a grandfather in the not too distant future.

Why Are You Running?:

I am greatly concerned about the growing government intrusion into our lives. As I see it, only the Ontario Libertarian Party has solutions to the problems we face in Ontario. I am honoured to represent a party which cares about all Ontarians, a party which is ready to make some tough, but necessary changes, so our children - and my soon to arrive grandchild can have a more certain and prosperous future.

Limited Government
Issue Details:
We have a very large problem in Ontario. As many Ontarians become less well off because of ever increasing taxation and rising costs, they have come to rely increasingly on government and social agencies in order to survive. As demand for more government services increases, taxation either has to increase, or deficits rise. Coupled with a world-wide recession, and more and more countries going broke, Ontarians and Canadians face, I believe, a very dismal future if something is not done differently. we in Ontario need A WHOLE NEW WAY OF DOING THINGS!
