InfoBill Walker was born and raised in Hepworth and has spent his career working on behalf of local families in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.

A lifelong volunteer in his community, Walker is running to provide local families with a strong voice in government, and to ensure that the long-neglected concerns of rural families are listened to in Toronto.

From 2000-2006, Bill served as the Executive Director of the Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation, responsible for raising money to help local families with their health care needs. Bill developed a strategic plan that helped raise $1.5 million for the Lion’s Head Hospital and $1.5 million for the Wiarton Hospital, thereby allowing both hospitals to protect and preserve local health care services close to home. Bill previously worked as the Recreation Director for the municipality of Wiarton, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound), and is a past organizer of the world famous Wiarton Willie Festival.

Today Bill works as an Operations Manager for Bruce Power where he is responsible for asset management, contract negotiations and stakeholder management in the Property Management department and prior to that Bill worked for AMEC as a communications officer and BiG facilitator for the ‘Bruce A Restart Project’.

Bill remains active in his local community and has volunteered for causes ranging from the Make-a-Wish Foundation, South Bruce Physician Recruitment Committee, the Hepworth Canadian Cancer Society, and the Wiarton Terry Fox Run. Bill and his wife Michaela are proud parents of two teenage boys, Zach and Ben.
