InfoA native of Towns County, Charles Jenkins attended Union County High School,
Berry College and Georgia State University. A veteran of the US Air Force, he
is retired from Lockheed Aeronautical Company.

He is the former director of the Blairsville-Union County Chamber of
Commerce, a member of the Blue Lodge and Appalachian Shrine Club. Jenkins is married
to Bonnie, and they are members of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

Jenkins was elected November 25, 2003, in a special election to succeed his
close friend, the late Representative Ralph Twiggs. He was sworn into office
on December 5.

His committee assignments are Banks & Banking, Economic Development & Tourism
and Game, Fish & Parks.
