Doug Nelson has been the Ninth Ward Republican Committeeman since March 2000. He is a resident of the Pullman neighborhood. He is active in community and area organizations. Doug is a member of the Pullman Civic Organization, Historic Pullman Foundation and the Pullman LLC, which is a neighborhood rebuilding effort. Doug is on the Board of Directors of the Hegewisch Chamber of Commerce and the Hegewisch Community Committee.Doug has a Master of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is currently employed as the Northern Illinois manager of the Illinois Department of Labor, Safety Division. Previously he was Chairman of the Steelworkers Union at Republic/LTV Steel in Chicago.
