InfoThomas M. Carman was elected by the citizens of Bradford County in November of 2007. Prior to this he was with the office, serving as a Deputy Coroner from 1999-2001. From 2001 until being elected as Coroner in 2007 he served as the Chief Deputy Coroner.

Carman first became certified in 1999 by the Office of Attorney General and Coroners Education Board by attending the Pa. State Police Academy in Hershey, Pa., participating in the Coroners Education Course. Carman attended Corning Community College for paramedicine. Carman has been practicing street medicine for the past 28 years and serves as the executive director/CEO for Western Alliance Emergency Services Inc. Carman is a Certified Medical Investigator through the American Board of Forensic Medicine. Carman passed his American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators board examination in Las Vegas, Nev. in 2009, and is now a board certified Medicolegal Death Investigator. Carman attended St. Josephs University in Philadelphia, Pa., completing Advanced Topics in Forensic Science; Investigating Religious and Ritualistic Crime. Carman is certified in Advanced Practical Homicide Investigation, and remains a member of the Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association.

Carman is a member of multiple associations including American College of Forensic Examiners Institute, Pennsylvania Coroners Association where he serves on the Ethics committee, Bradford Susquehanna EMS Council where he serves on the finance committee, Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania where he serves on the Relations/Standards committee, Bradford County 911 committee, Pennsylvania Sheriffs Association, Troy Community Hospital Disaster Committee, and is a life member with the Canton Fire Department. Carman is the chairman for the Bradford County Child Death Review team. Carman is a member of St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church.

Carman remains active with meeting the educational needs of fire, law enforcement, and medical personnel. Carman is an instructor of many forensic and medical programs for the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bucks County Community College, American Heart Association, and International Trauma Life Support. Carman is a past guest speaker at Lackawanna College presenting Basic Death Investigation tactics to the forensic class students. Carman has been a public servant for the past 28 years and remains as such today.

Carman resides in Troy Borough with his wife Cammy. They have five children, Zebulin, Dominic, Terence who reside at home in Troy, Michael who serves in Fort Cambell, Kentucky, and Sarah who is a student at Penn College in Williamsport.
