Info | The son of a former Congressman, Weston understands how government should work for the people of Tennessee’s Third District. As a member of the “debt paying generation”, he wants to lead the effort to change the direction of our country before the growing national debt destroys our quality of life.
A 2009 Cum Laude graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Communications, Weston helped launch Lamp Post Group, a venture capital incubator in Chattanooga. Weston is the group’s Director of Communications, overseeing marketing and public relations for Lamp Post and its portfolio companies.
Lamp Post is located in the heart of the downtown business district in Chattanooga and is recognized as a strong example of what happens when the spirit of innovation that defines a free market is nurtured and unleashed.
Weston is also President and Managing Partner of Wamp Strategy, a public relations and creative strategy firm. Before starting his own business, Weston managed social media and television for his father’s gubernatorial campaign. He also served as the campaign’s lead surrogate, speaking in more than 30 Tennessee counties.
During college, Weston broadened his understanding of the world and business when he worked a summer for a leading Australian communications firm, writing press releases for an on-going presidential campaign in southeast Asia. A year later, Weston spent a summer working for Tennessee Basketball legend Ernie Grunfeld, GM for the NBA’s Washington Wizards.
Born March 26, 1987, Weston grew up “at the feet” of many national leaders in politics and business during Zach Wamp’s 16-year career in the U.S. House of Representatives. He believes Congress isn’t working and wants to be part of the solution.
Weston is the son of Zach and Kim Wamp. His sister, Coty, is in law school at the University of Tennessee. He was featured in Chattanooga Cityscope Magazines “30 under 30″. He is currently in Leadership Chattanooga and actively involved with Young Life. A member of Red Bank Baptist Church, Weston resides in Chattanooga.
