He owns a manufacturing business, American Metal Technologies, Inc., and is a member of numerous organizations, including The Federalist Society, Heritage Foundation, Americans United for Life, , the National Federation of Independent Business, Alabama Banker's Association, the Business Council of Alabama, Alabama Retail Association, and Alfa. He serves as an Elder in his Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
