InfoSen. Joseph D. Kenney, a Republican, was first elected to the New Hampshire Senate in November of 2002. Previously, he served as a member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives for four terms.

Kenney serves as chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee. He also serves on the Executive Departments and Administration; the Internal Affairs; and the Public Institutions, Health and Human Services committees.

Kenney has been a member of the U.S. Marine Corps since 1980, and is currently serving as a special projects officer. He has been active in local and state politics and was the 2000�2002 vice chair of the Carroll County delegation.

Kenney resides in Union and is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he earned a bachelor's degree.
