InfoMike Dugas was born in Miami and spent most of his childhood in Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida in 2000 with a masters degree in statistics, he came to UC Davis to work on his Ph.D. in statistics. This he is still working on and expects to be done in 2005.

200?-2004: President, UC Davis College Republicans

2003-2004: State Co-Chairman, California College Republicans

As for politics, Dugas became a Republican at age 15 for two primary reasons. First, he believes citizens must, as their own responsibility, take care of those close to them and not whine about how the government didnt do this or that for them (excluding security and education). Anybody remember JFKs famous words on this? Second, the Republican Party is not busy enabling the latest whimsical social experiment that clearly violates well established principles.

Even though Dugas voted Republican, he did not get involved in the public process until he began attending graduate school at UC Davis. It was there that Dugas saw, in person, the far left wing of American politics in action pontificating on how the following categories are to blame for any number of problems: white, male, Christian, conservative, Republican, American and businessman. Since Dugas fits all of these categories and he believes an individuals actions determine his morality, Dugas was naturally motivated to fight liberals. So after complaining a while, Dugas took matters into his own hands and joined the College Republicans.

Mike Dugas kicked his political career off by leading the fight to knock the progressives out of student government. Afterwards, Dugas took on the UC Davis administration and facultys lopsided favoritism of liberalism. Dugas founded two conservative student groups at UC Davis in order to take the fight to the liberals and put them on the defensive.

Currently, Mike Dugas serves as an advisor to Students Against Academic Discrimination, Co-Chairman of the California College Republicans and on the board of directors of Young Conservatives Foundation.
