| Info | Lifelong Republican Randy Graf was first elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2000. Serving as the House Majority Whip and American Legislative Exchange Council State Chairman during his second term, 2003-2004, Randy addressed issues for his constituents such as Second Amendment protection, illegal immigration, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and whistleblower legislation. As a House leader, he played a role in budget negotiations with the State Senate and Governor’s office.
Voted Friend of the Taxpayer four years in a row, Randy Graf also received awards from the Arizona Family Project, Arizona Association of Industries, and the Association of Arizona Building Officials. He was given an A+ ranking from the NRA and had a 100% voting record with the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB). In 2002, during a difficult special session budget negotiation, several state parks in Southern Arizona were set for closure. Knowing their importance to their local communities and economies, Randy led the fight to keep these parks open.
In 2003, Randy became a senior advisor to the Protect Arizona Now Committee which introduced Proposition 200. Undeterred by critics, he traveled the state promoting the measure which cracked down on election and welfare fraud by illegal aliens. In 2004, Arizona voters overwhelmingly approved the measure.
Randy relinquished his state position to run for Arizona’s Eighth Congressional seat in 2004. Outspent nearly ten to one by a ten-term incumbent in the primary election, Randy garnered forty-three percent of the vote as he campaigned on pro-life and pro-family issues as well as illegal immigration and fiscal responsibility. Fresh from that success, Randy announced his candidacy for the 2006 campaign. Since then, he has built an enormous grassroots organization throughout the district and is broadly considered the frontrunner in the congressional race. Randy is frequently interviewed on television and radio, including Fox News Channel, CNN, Lou Dobbs Tonight, the John C. Scott Show, KNST’s morning show, cable access, and international news shows.
Born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Randy has called southern Arizona his home for more than 20 years. A former club golf professional and member of the PGA, Randy was elected to the Continental School District Governing Board in 1994 and served as Board President in 1998.
He was also the Government Relations Liaison to the Green Valley Chamber of Commerce. Currently, he serves as a member of the Green Valley Salvation Army Advisory Council. Randy and his wife Cathy have been married for twenty-five years, have one son and one grandson, and live in Green Valley, Arizona.
