InfoChuck Gray was born in Mesa, Arizona, on January 20, 1958, to Dale and Janice Gray. He went to grade school at Adams Elementary School and later attended Powell Junior High. Chuck graduated from Mesa High School in 1976, and went on to serve for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Spain where he learned to speak fluent Spanish.

Upon his return, Chuck worked in the family construction business as a brick, block and stone mason while he attended Mesa Community College. He met Connie Jones who quickly became his sweetheart for life. Chuck and Connie were married in 1980 and have been happily married for over 22 years. They now have five beautiful children.

Chuck worked for twelve years in the family business as a mason, foreman and superintendent. Fulfilling his life-long dream to become a police officer, Chuck joined the Mesa Police Department in 1990. In his ten-year tenure he served in many areas including Patrol, Community Relations, and as a Detective in the Auto Theft Unit. He also trained new officers as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and was an intermediate Spanish translator for the Department for eight years.

Chuck's particular interest in helping kids leave the gang life lead to being selected to head up a youth outreach program called Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T.). He instituted and personally taught the anti-gang program in ten Mesa public junior high schools.

Chuck also served in the Mesa Police Gang Unit and was certified as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) officer for the Mesa Police Department. His dedication to helping troubled youth led him to work in the Police Athletics League (PAL) where he helped kids stay off the streets on Friday and Saturday nights. Chuck also served as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for four-and-a-half years.

Following his career in law enforcement, Chuck took a full-time position as head of an Internet company he established in 1997. His company markets automotive accessories around the world.

Chuck and Connie worked together as precinct committeemen in their district. Chuck has also served as the National Issues Committee in his district and was elected to the position of third vice-chair of the largest and most active legislative district in the state (District 19).
