Field to the Forty-fifth Congress and served from March 28, 1878, to March 3, 1879; was not a candidate for renomination in 1878 to the Forty-sixth Congress; resumed the practice of law in Boston; member of the board of park commissioners for several years and served as chairman; died in South Boston, Mass., April 9, 1897; interment in Lowell Cemetery, Lowell, Mass.
