Elected to the Michigan House of Representatives from Tuscola County in 1950, 1952, 1954, 1956, 1958, 1960, and 1962.

He also served on the Tuscola County Board of Education.

Allison Green of Kingston, Speaker of the Michigan house of Representatives announced today that he will be a candidate at the Republican primary for State Representative from the new district No. 15, which is comprised of Huron and Tuscola counties.

Prior to being elevated to Speaker in 1963, Breen had been Majority Floor leader for eight years. In addition to this responsibility, he has served on a number of the more important committees in the House including: Apportionment, Education, Rules and Resolutions, Labor and the Legislative Audit Commission.

Al Green was born October 28 1911 at Caro. He attended a rural school, Caro High School, and is a graduate of Central Michigan University.

Prior to legislature, he spent fifteen years in public education, as teacher, coach, principal and superintendent.

He has owned and operated his farm in Tuscola County since 1940.

He and his wife Marjorie have five children, two of which are still at home
