Quinn; reelected to the Forty-sixth Congress and served from November 5, 1878, to March 3, 1881; was not a candidate for renomination in 1880; United States consul to Hamburg, Germany, by appointment of President Garfield 1881-1885; delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1888; appointed by President Harrison as surveyor of customs at Albany, N.Y., 1889-1894; resumed the practice of law; died in Albany, N.Y., February 21, 1916; interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethlehem, N.Y.
