Info | TAYLOR, Benjamin Irving, a Representative from New York; born in New York City December 21, 1877; attended the public schools; was graduated from the high school in New Rochelle, N.Y., and from Columbia Law School in New York City in 1899; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Port Chester, Westchester County, N.Y.; supervisor of Harrison, Westchester County, 1905-1913; elected as a Democrat to the Sixty-third Congress (March 4, 1913-March 3, 1915); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1914 to the Sixty-fourth Congress; resumed the practice of law in Port Chester, N.Y.; again elected supervisor of Harrison, N.Y., in 1921, and served in that capacity, with the exception of two years, until December 1945; died in Harrison, N.Y., September 5, 1946; interment in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, N.Y.
