Anne Covey is the owner of Covey & Associates, P.C. She practices exclusively in all areas of Labor and Employment Law representing employers in discrimination claims, contract disputes, collective bargaining negotiations and all aspects of the employment relationship from pre-hiring considerations through post-termination concerns before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitrators. Ms. Covey’s national practice includes training management and non-management employees on their workplace responsibilities and rights, conducting workplace investigations and counseling employers on state and federal employment and labor laws. In addition, Ms. Covey is the first female Member appointed and reappointed to the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.

Ms. Covey is the author of The Workplace Law Advisor published by Perseus Books. Her book discusses, in layperson’s language, everyday answers to everyday employment questions. She wrote a chapter for the prestigious corporate book entitled Business: The Ultimate Resource which is a reference book on a multitude of business topics. She is also the author of The Federal Equal Employment Laws, a chapter in The Compensation Guide. She also served as Editor of Reasonable Accommodation, The Journal of Disability Management and ADA Compliance. Her articles on the various employment laws and their administration and impact on the employment relationship as well as the enforceability of certain contractual provisions have been published in the Denver Law Review, National Law Journal, New Jersey Law Journal and ChemTech Magazine. She has also developed courses and served as an adjunct professor at Monmouth University and faculty member with the American Compensation Association teaching advanced courses in Human Relations and Employment Law.

Ms. Covey lectures extensively around the country educating managers, supervisors and non-management employees on their organizations’ employment law obligations, how to implement these laws on a practical daily basis as well as their individual responsibilities. Ms. Covey has been interviewed by United Press International, The Cincinnati Post, WNYC, WFAN, Society for Human Resource Management (“SHRM”) and other newspapers, and television and radio stations on the various employment laws.

In her representation and counsel of employers, Ms. Covey is member of the Society for Human Resource Management, New Jersey State and Pennsylvania State Bar Associations and served as a Barrister in the Employment Law American Inn of Court. Ms. Covey has a broad labor and employment law perspective which is based, in part, upon her diverse employment experience which includes: Member of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board; Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court clerkship; and private law practice with national law firms.

Ms. Covey graduated from the University of Delaware earning a B.A. with Departmental Honors. She was a member of the Dean’s List, National Honor Society and National Sociology Honor Society. Ms. Covey graduated from the Delaware Law School of Widener University, with the honors of Cum Laude and the American Jurisprudence Award. She was a member of The National Dean’s List, Who’s Who Among Students in American Law Schools, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Fraternity.
