InfoBOB KISS of Burlington, Chittenden County, Progressive, was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin on April 1, 1947 and became a resident of his present town in 1972. After working over 20 Bob Kiss has lived in Burlington since 1972 and on Germain Street since 1977.

He has represented the citizens of Burlington with commitment and integrity

Three-term member of the Vermont House of Representatives
Sponsored important legislation on whistle blower protection for health care workers, rental housing health and safety, and outdoor lighting
Leader of the Progressive Caucus, and member of the Labor Caucus and the Small Business Caucus

He managed an $8M organization for over a decade

Executive Director of The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity, Inc. (CVOEO) for twelve years
Bob was responsible for:
150 employees at twelve different sites in four counties
$8M annual budget
over 100 different funding sources
He is committed to helping small businesses grow and thrive

Under Bob’s leadership, CVOEO initiated the innovative Micro Business Development Program and the Employee Ownership Program

He has worked to improve the lives of Burlington residents

As Executive Director of CVOEO, helped the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf expand from a small pantry on North Street to its own building on North Winooski Avenue, providing over 1,000 meals a month and groceries to over 1,400 households
Member of Board of Commissioners for the Burlington Housing Authority for nine years, five years as the chair
Member of the Board of Directors of the Committee on Temporary Shelter(COTS) for eight years
Led CVOEO in developing innovative social programs, including:
TheWarmth Program
The Fair Housing Project
Vermont Tenants, Inc.
