| Info | Steve Mullan represents Ward 4 and has been a member of City Council since 2005. He and his wife Mary retired from the teaching profession in 1998, having taught in the Newton School District for many years and served on numerous Newton Community Education Association committees. Steve is a life member of the National Education Association and the Iowa Retired Teachers' Association. During his tenure in Newton, he was a past president of the Newton Community Education Association, a member of the Iowa State Education Association's Professional Growth and Development Cadre, and served as the chairperson for Newton High School's North Central evaluation in the 1990's. He currently serves on the Employee Relations Committee, and represents the Council on the Newton Development Corporation Board.
