My name is Joseph "Joe" Pontarelli and I'm running for Town President 2013. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I've lived in the Town of Cicero since 1962. I have always loved the small town feel and friendliness of its residents. I loved it so much, that I chose to raise my own family here. I reside here with my wife Nicole and my two children.
It has been my honor to serve you and the Town of Cicero for more than 30 years. I've worked for the Cicero Public Works department from 1980 to 2000. From there I began Director of Senior Services from 2000 to 2012. I was awarded the Governors Hometown award in 2002 for outstanding programs and services for senior citizens.
You may have recently read that I requested of Larry Dominick to be transferred to another department, that statement is completely false!
I have announced my retirement to focus on becoming your next Town President. I would like to put an end to the ongoing scandals and corruption Cicero has been exposed to with the current administration.
With your help in electing me, I believe we will make Cicero a better place to live, work, and raise your family.
As your Town President I will:
- Reform government and save tax dollars
- Enhance senior, youth and education programs
- Redevelop the Cermak Road commercial district
- Strengthen police presence and eliminate gang violence
- Create an open bidding process for Town contracts and curb nepotism
- Develop a better sewer system
On Election Day February 26th, 2013 vote for me Joseph "Joe" Pontarelli.
