I’m a 41 year-old single parent and grandfather. I'm also a laid-off educator who understands the hardships facing most Americans today firsthand.
I was born and raised in Lansing and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1987. My father was a combat-wounded WWII Veteran, Lansing Police Officer and Small Business owner; my mother taught in the Waverly schools for 37 years. Both of them provided the strong foundation for my belief in public service.
I've been active in Democratic politics for many years, running for state office 12 years ago. I'm running to be your Congressman because I believe in the Democratic process; the words “can't” and “impossible” do not exist in my vocabulary—this is America; anything is possible!
I am running as write-in candidate because the Democratic candidate who was running dropped out, leaving the Democratic Party without a REAL candidate or choice on the ballot, thus giving Mr. Rogers a free ride in the November election. I could not allow Mr. Rogers to go without opposition in the fall, so I made the decision to be part of the solution instead of the problem.
So, here I am, hoping to lead by example on what is wrong with our political process. I want to be a voice of the People and not special interests. I want to eliminate the need for money to run campaigns and get back to the root of our great American experiment called Democracy. I am a free thinker who believes in doing the right thing, because it’s harder to do the right thing and be honest and forthright. If given the privilege and honor to serve the People of Michigan and this great country of ours, it is my goal to bring integrity back to the office and do what is in the best interest of ALL people.
I am an individual who lives and breathes for the people. I want to bring integrity back to the game, one House seat at a time!
