InfoTina Liebling was born and raised in Minneapolis. After her family moved out of state Tina came back to Minnesota on her own. She supported herself as a waitress, nurse's aid, and clerical worker so she could attend the University of Minnesota. After graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. in Spanish she went on to get an M.S. in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a J.D. cum laude from Boston University Law School.

After law school she married Mark. The couple moved to the Chicago area where their three children were born and Tina worked as a lawyer in the Cook County Public Defenders Office. She returned to Minnesota in 1994, when Mark joined the staff of the Mayo Clinic, and started a solo law practice concentrating on criminal law.

In 2002, Tina ran for State Representative in District 30A, coming in second in the three-way race.

Tina is a member of the Olmsted County Bar Association, the NAACP, the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, the Rochester Rotary Club, and the Rochester League of Women Voters. She served for six years on the Dodge-Filmore-Olmsted Community Corrections Advisory Board. She has been a leader in her faith community and a school volunteer for many years. She and her husband support numerous worthy causes, both local and national. Their children, ages 15 and 11, attend Rochester Public Schools. Another child recently graduated from Mayo High School.

In 2003-2004, Tina taught legal writing to first year law students at the University of Minnesota School of Law and provided free legal services through Southeast Minnesota Regional Legal Services.
