InfoAn attorney and former Medford Councilwoman, Mary Ann O’Brien is one of the newest members of the Freeholder Board, having been sworn to a three-year term on January 1, 2010. As freeholder, her major areas of oversight include Public Safety and Emergency Management; Consumer Affairs and Weights and Measures; Solid Waste and Recycling; Information Technology; and the Superintendent of Elections. Although a Medford resident for 20 years, Freeholder O’Brien was born and raised in Delran. During her tenure in local office, she served as a member of the Medford Planning Board, as Council Liaison to the local Senior Citizen Advisory Board; and as Co-Liaison to the Economic Development Commission and Public Safety Advisory Board. Freeholder O’Brien is active in her church, and serves as Director of Music for Resurrection Parish (Holy Name Church in Delran and St. Casimir in Riverside). She is also a member of the Medford Business Association, Friends of the Medford Cultural Arts, and the Medford Historical Society. She and her husband, Tim, have a son, Dan, who attends the University of Pennsylvania.
