InfoPaul Hobby is a founder of Genesis Park, a regional private equity firm based in Houston. Genesis Park has been an active investor since late 1999, acting as a sponsor for numerous buy-outs, recapitalizations and growth fundings - with a specialty in technology, telecom and niche energy opportunities. Early in his career, Mr. Hobby worked in traditional media businesses - in and around radio, newspaper and television operations. In 1994, Mr. Hobby conceived and executed a technology strategy for integrating station operations through improved information technology. That company, Columbine JDS Systems, Inc., became the largest provider of media software and services in the world. The company grew through internal software development and acquisitions both in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Hobby sold that company in late 1997 to a NYSE-listed company. External investors included G.E. Capital, First Southwest Company and Luther King Capital Management. Mr. Hobby has built a quality portfolio of new and traditional media investments and has provided strategic consulting services to several traditional media companies that wish to transition toward new media. He is a founder of the Houston Technology Center Angel Network and serves on the boards of a number of publicly traded companies, including Eagle Global Logistics, Inc., Stewart Title and Southwest Bank of Texas.

Mr. Hobby is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Texas School of Law, where he has served as an adjunct faculty member. Present and former board relationships include Aronex Pharmaceuticals, Coastal Bancorp, St. John's School, University of Texas Chancellors Council, Baylor College of Medicine, River Oaks Property Owners Association, Hermann Hospital, Covenant House Texas, The Urban League-Houston, Greater Houston Community Foundation and the Center for Houston's Future.
