InfoJim Simon is a successful Nebraska businessman with a strong record of creating jobs in the community. A member of the Simon family that founded world-famous Omaha Steaks, Jim worked summers and spent his first year in the meat cooler cutting meat. But Jim had an idea – to use the Internet to sell steaks – and he set up Omaha Steak’s first ever on-line marketing and sales effort.

Simon caught the attention of America Online, which successfully recruited him to become Vice President of New Business Development As Vice President of AOL, Simon was responsible for bringing in new business for the Company. During his tenure at AOL, Simon and several other employees had the opportunity to create their own company (DMS) here in Omaha, which after only two years created over 180 jobs. Simon and his partners sold DMS back to AOL where he rejoined the Company.

Simon has been happily married to his college sweetheart, Kim, for 7 fantastic years and they have three lovely daughters, Gabby, Maddie and Charlotte.

Simon is putting together a first rate team, headlined by former Senator Bob Kerrey as Campaign Chairman. Said Kerrey, “Jim Simon is a proven leader. His business background demonstrates that he is a man of new ideas, willing to roll up his sleeves and achieve results. I am confident Jim will make the people of the 2nd District proud they elected him as their Congressman.”

Simon has also been enthusiastically endorsed by Senator Ben Nelson and former Senator Jim Exon. Said Nelson, “Jim Simon is a man who will work for Nebraska's families, and who will work for Nebraska's values in Washington, DC. He will bring cooperation, teamwork, and fiscal responsibility to the halls of Congress.” Exon added, “Jim is the future of Nebraska, and that future is now. He is a man who will serve the entire 2nd District well.”

As a successful businessman, Simon understands the importance of hard work and new ideas to make things happen. Simon’s leadership, his roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and his commitment to working families will give Nebraskans a much needed voice in Congress.
