InfoTom Beaulieu was recently re-elected to the18th Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories representing the constituency of Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh, which includes Fort Resolution, Łutselk'e, Dettah, and N'dilo.

Mr. Beaulieu was first elected in 2007 and acclaimed in 2011, representing Tu Nedhé which included the communities of Fort Resolution and Łutselk'e.

From 2013-2015, Mr. Beaulieu was the Minister of Transportation, Minister of Public Works and Minister of Human Resources. From 2011-2013, he was the Minister of Health and Social Services, Minister for Seniors and Minister for Persons with Disabilities. In addition, he was Chair of the Standing Committee on Social Programs from 2008-2011, and Chair of the Sustainability of Rural and Remote Communities from 2011-2015

Mr. Beaulieu was born in Fort Resolution in 1958, where he grew up with three brothers and a sister, and attended elementary school. He attended high school in Fort Smith, as a resident at Grandin College, and in Yellowknife. He learned how to trap as a child and continued to trap, on and off, until the mid-1980s.

Mr. Beaulieu currently resides in Yellowknife with his spouse Monique. He has also lived in Rocher River, Hay River, Inuvik, Fort Smith, and Pine Point.

Mr. Beaulieu joined the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation in 1977 as a Program Officer Trainee working in the South Slave, North Slave and Western Arctic District Offices. From 1984-1990, he was the District Manager of the South Slave District Office in Hay River and was then appointed as the Senior District Operations Manager.

He took leave from the Housing Corporation in 1992 to study Public and Business Administration at Arctic College in Fort Smith. Upon returning to the Corporation in 1994 he was appointed District Director of the South Slave District, a position he held until 1997 when he was named Vice-President of the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation.

In 2000, Mr. Beaulieu was appointed President of the Northwest Territories Housing Corporation. In 2004, he was appointed President/CEO of the Northwest Territories Development Corporation and in April 2005 he was appointed as Associate Deputy Minister of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Mr. Beaulieu has three children: Doreen Vogt, Brittany Beaulieu, and Zachary Beaulieu. He enjoys spending time hiking, walking, working around his Yellowknife home, boating, and snowmobiling.

Mr. Beaulieu considers Fort Resolution his hometown, but his mother and sister live in Hay River, where he spent many years. He has served two terms as a town councillor in Hay River. He has one brother living in Yellowknife and one in Fort Providence, and many members of his extended family continue to live in Fort Resolution.
