InfoKara was born in Hartford, Connecticut and grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She graduated with a Degree in Advanced Communication Practices and Writing from Boston University in 1992, with an additional concentration in Art History. Kara also worked for several years at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Kara moved from Boston to Rhode Island on New Year's Eve, 1998 and has been a Rhode Islander ever since. She worked in the Marketing Department at the Providence Civic Center (now the Dunkin' Donuts Center) for three years, and later became the Director of Sales and Marketing at The University of Rhode Island's Ryan Center, a 54 million dollar facility, where she helped to bring the project from the construction phase through to the operation phase. Kara generated millions of dollars for The Ryan Center in contract agreements and has built a relationship with many of the corporations in the state of Rhode Island. She was also the co-chair, along with then South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce president Darlene Evans, of the Southern Rhode Island Business to Business Expo. Kara has promoted numerous events at both the Dunkin' Donuts Center, and The Ryan Center to help stimulate the local economy and to bring tourism dollars into the state of Rhode Island.

Kara also served for two years on the South Kingstown Chamber of Commerce board of directors, and she was a member of the board on the South County Tourism Council for one year.

Kara is strongly pro-life and pro-family. She is very active in the pro-life community and produces pro-life television shows statewide, including Standing for Life in Rhode Island. She is also the producer of St. Charles Speaks, which covers the weekly prayer meeting and many of the community activities at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Providence, including their food pantry and holiday food drives. Kara also produces a half hour statewide television show called Standing for Life in Rhode Island, which covers pro-life, pro-family, and religious freedom issues affecting Rhode Island and our country! The show airs statewide in Rhode Island on Wednesdays at 1:30 PM on Cox Channel 14/Verizon 33. The show re-airs on Thursday nights at 10 PM (in Providence and North Providence only) on Cox Channel 18/Verizon 31.

Kara was the winner of the recent Women of Grace contest, and her entry can be seen here on youtube! [Link] Women of Grace is an exceptional show on EWTN covering issues of the Church, life, family, religious freedom, and more.

In June 2012, Kara was the emcee of the 2012 Pill Kills National Symposium in Washington D.C., hosted by American Life League.

Kara believes in many of the issues that the Tea Party Movement stands for, and believes that less taxation will result in the life line needed to help stimulate both businesses and citizens to bring the economy back to life in Rhode Island.

Kara is engaged to Christopher Young, who is currently running for Congress in District 1 against the extremely pro-abortion and anti-family David Cicilline.

Kara received the endorsement from the Republican National Coalition for Life in her run for Lieutenant Governor in 2010, and received the endorsement of many pro-life community members as well!
