InfoYork Kleinhandler grew up in the Bronx, N.Y. in the 17th Congressional District, raised in a single parent household. York is a staunch supporter of the free market system who believes this nation’s greatest asset is its people. He believes in family, God, and country.

York’s guiding thoughts are:

Government spending is out of control. In 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office, 90% of our gross domestic product will be needed to cover debt payment
Taxes continue to rise at an alarming rate. The more people are taxed, the less they spend and the more stagnant our economy becomes
Government continues to grow in size and economic stimulus cannot be created by government expansion and growth
Small businesses are the economic engine that moves the country. They must be given incentives to grow and expand, and this will create more jobs
A free market economy with less government interference will allow our economy to reinvigorate itself
A strong military and homeland defense coupled with sound foreign policy will allow America to protect its interests both at home and abroad
York has achieved great success in two very different careers. From 1990 through 2004 he was a member of the United States Marshal Service. He served as a Deputy U.S. Marshal and Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal. While a Deputy US Marshal, York’s accomplishments include, but were not limited to, being lead investigator for SDNY in the capture of a US Marshal Service Top 15; assisting in the investigation and arrest of an FBI Top 10; being the lead investigator in numerous US Marshal Service Major Cases. As a Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal he was involved in management and oversight of all operational and select administrative personnel in all essential U.S.M.S. functions.

York is also a successful businessman. In 2004 York was the Chief Operating Officer of a small financial service entity. He oversaw the daily operations of an organization that generated in excess of $17.5 million in revenue. Furthermore, he was accountable for growing the corporation almost fourfold from $5 million to $17.5 million between 2003 and early 2007. In 2007, York became a small business owner where he had continued success by utilizing an effective business plan, imaginative sales techniques, and innovative marketing.

York is currently a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army National Guard. He has served for over 29 years in the United States Army in the Active, Reserve and the National Guard components. His current assignment is as Senior Warrant Officer for a Special Forces Battalion. He has deployed overseas to Afghanistan on two separate occasions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003 and 2009. Throughout his military career York has been honored many times including the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, two Bronze Stars, two Army Commendation Medals, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. He is a Master Parachutist and was awarded the Green Beret in 1986.

York currently resides in the 17th Congressional District in West Nyack, N. Y. with his wife Jackie, and three children. His spare time is spent as a volunteer coach in ice hockey and girls’ softball. He is an avid runner, enjoys skiing and his family has always been and will remain the most important aspect of his life.
