Info | Matt Wiebe was born and raised in North East Winnipeg. He attended River East High School and played football with the East Side Eagles.
Over the past five years Matt has worked as executive assistant to former Premier Gary Doer and Bill Blaikie, MLA Elmwood and Minister of Conservation.
Matt is recognized for his ability to bring community leaders together with government officials to address community concerns. As an active community volunteer, Matt is involved in many initiatives in North East Winnipeg.
Matt volunteers as a board member of the Elmwood Community Resource Centre which provides adult literacy training, after-school programs for children and new moms. He is the volunteer chair of the Elmwood Safety Committee, and the Communities that Care Initiative, which helps at risk youth graduate from high school and address issues such as violence and substance abuse.
Matt has volunteered his time with other organizations including the Keenleyside Outreach Centre, Elmwood/East Kildonan Residents Advisory Committee, Happy Days on Henderson/Take Pride Elmwood, Beautify Elmwood Community Committee and the River East Neighbourhood Network.
Matt holds a degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba. Matt is married to Kaila Wiebe, and they make their home in North East Winnipeg.
