| Info | Born and raised in a Philadelphia row-home by Irish immigrants, Francis and Eileen, Kevin Boyle has deep local roots. Both his parents have been members of unions their entire working lives. Francis was a member of Teamsters #169 for 24 years, and since 2000 has been a member of TWU #234. Eileen has been a school crossing guard and a member of AFSCME District Council #33 for over 25 years. Kevin is a 1998 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and a 2002 graduate of LaSalle University.
After college, Kevin was accepted to Harvard University to study Education policy. While at Harvard, Kevin researched urban education issues, school funding streams, and strategies to expand access to higher education. Much of Kevin's research was included in the "Reach Scholarship" bill that Reps. Brendan Boyle and Tony Payton introduced in the state House in 2009.
After receiving his masters degree, Kevin worked as an advocate for the Alliance for Children and Families, the nation's second largest association for families services organizations in Washington, D.C. Kevin's responsibilities included policy analysis, meeting members of Congress regarding legislation, and organizing member agencies into action regarding issues pertinent to their interests.
For the past three years, Kevin has served as Councilman Bill Greenlee's Legislative Director, where he was directly involved in the drafting of some of the city's most impactful new laws. He worked directly with Councilman Bill Green on the ban prohibiting driving while operating a hand-held cell phone or other electronic device. It was also Boyle's idea to have Council pass a law that prevents businesses from firing documented victims of domestic abuse, providing them with a four to eight week period of unpaid leave.
Active in his community, Boyle serves as secretary on the board of the Fox Chase Homeowners Association and coaches little league baseball for the FoxRok (Fox Chase-Rockledge) Athletic Association. Boyle is also a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and a parishioner at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church.
Kevin is engaged to Caitlyn Crotty, a financial representative at Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
